On December 31, 2019, the Bryant Zamberlan Group announced the honorees for the inaugural “Bryant Zamberlan List” of individuals who’ve distinguished themselves in communication, and have,  in doing so, set an example for others to carry into the new year.

The list is not an award, and the Bryant Zamberlan Group does not claim the stature or  inaugural list is the culmination of a three-year process, including the survey of 200+ communicators from all personal and professional walks of life: journalists, visual artists, creative writers, songwriters, speechwriters, public relations and strategic communications consultants, internal communications specialists, as well as current and former corporate and government strategic communicators, speechwriters, and advisors.  A smaller, executive jury reviewed all returned surveys and submitted names, and in a series of discussions and selection rounds, determined the list of living honorees in late-Fall 2019.

The List is a statement of values, in a way, and our testament to the importance of positive example Profiles in Courage  The stories of those who’d come before, who’ve “been there,” often facing similar headwinds—and who made a difference along their way—were always more than mere inspiration. They were maps to follow and sources of encouragement (“if she could do it, so can I”).  It was in this tradition of chronicling “great examples” that The Bryant Zamberlan List was born.

The List is also the most significant and public step the Bryant Zamberlan Group will make as we approach our ten-year anniversary and, following a three-year transition plan, permanently steer the company away from consulting work toward a more actively participant and altruistic role as an institutional supporter and amplifier of emergent content creators – both in house and through an incubator/accelerator program for writers, communicators, artists, and creators from historically marginalized subgroups (which may include women, minorities, those from rural or inner city locales, those successfully managing mental illness, or the physically disabled, in any given cohort).  Additionally, our roadmap includes the establishment of a foundation to complement this work with additional scholarships and grant opportunities.
